Documents Required for MP PSARA Registration

Quick answer: For MP PSARA registration you need owner documents (photo, PAN, Aadhaar, 3 years' ITR, PSARA training certificate), entity documents (MP office proof, Gumasta, GST, EPF, ESIC, constitution documents), an MoU with an MP PSARA registered training institute, guard ID card and uniform photos, office photos and the prescribed affidavits. The exact list depends on your entity type.

The documents required for MP PSARA registration depend on how your security agency is constituted - proprietorship, partnership firm, LLP, private limited company or society. The Controller of PSARA, Madhya Pradesh checks these papers online and then sends the case for police verification, so a complete and consistent file is the single biggest factor in avoiding queries and delay.

This page gives you an overview, a side-by-side comparison and links to a detailed checklist for each entity type. If you are still deciding on the structure, our company, LLP and firm registration service can set it up before the PSARA filing.

Why documents matter so much in PSARA applications

Under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 on India Code, no person can run a private security agency without a license, and the license is granted only after the authority is satisfied about the applicant, the office and the arrangements for guard training. In practice, the documents are the only way the authority can judge this before police verification. Missing, outdated or mismatched papers lead to portal queries, and each query adds weeks.

Applications are filed on the official PSARA portal, where every document is uploaded as a scanned file. The government fee for MP is based on the area of operation; see our page on MP PSARA license government fees for the district-wise slab.

Document preparation tips

1. Make names and addresses match everywhere

The agency name on the Gumasta, GST, EPF, ESIC, office banner, ID card and application must be identical. Owners' names must be spelt the same on PAN, Aadhaar, ITR and training certificate. Most queries come from small mismatches.

2. Check the agency name first

Search the name on the PSARA portal before registering GST or printing banners. If the same name exists, change it. Since 2022, names containing words such as DETECTIVE, INVESTIGATION, SURVEILLANCE, INTELLIGENCE, INTERROGATION, FACILITY or LABOUR SUPPLIER are not allowed.

3. Keep the office genuinely ready

Police verification covers the office as well as the owners. The office should be functional, with a visible banner, and the rent agreement should be current. A virtual or shared address usually causes problems at verification.

4. Get photographs right the first time

The guard 4-side photo (front, back, left, right) must show full uniform, company logo and ID card. The office outer photo must show the banner with the exact agency name.

5. Use the prescribed affidavit formats

Affidavits such as Form 3 and Form 7, or affidavits of all directors, follow set formats. Drafting them in your own words often leads to a query. We prepare these as per the MP PSARA guideline.

6. Scan clearly and keep originals ready

Scan in colour, keep each file readable and within the portal's size limits, and keep originals available in case they are asked for during verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the documents for MP PSARA registration the same for every type of business?

No. Owner documents such as photo, PAN, Aadhaar, ITR and training certificate are common, but entity documents differ. A partnership needs a deed, an LLP needs its incorporation certificate and LLP agreement, a company needs MOA and AOA, and a society needs by-laws and a list of members. Affidavits also vary by structure.

Can I apply for MP PSARA registration with a home address as the office?

The office must be a real business place in Madhya Pradesh that can pass police verification, with a banner and a basic working setup. A residential address may face questions if it does not look like an operating office. It is safer to use a proper commercial premises with a current rent agreement or ownership proof.

Do all partners or directors need a PSARA training certificate?

For partnership firms and LLPs, the list requires the training certificate for all partners. For private limited companies, directors are expected to have it, and in a proprietorship the proprietor must have it. Training should be taken from an institute registered with MP PSARA, so it is best to schedule it before other paperwork.

What happens if a document is missing after I submit the application?

The Controller of PSARA, Madhya Pradesh usually raises a query on the portal. You log in, upload the missing or corrected document and re-submit. Each query adds time, often several weeks in practice, so it is better to complete and cross-check the full set before paying the fee and submitting.
